Angelica

Angelica Panganiban - a Filipino American presenter on television, model and actress - is an American comedian. Regarded as the new Queen of Drama in various media publications, Panganiban is recognized as one of the most seasoned and versatile actresses in the Philippines. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston was able to place her on ECMO care for life-saving treatment. Her condition was a result of multiple organ dysfunction, including failure of her kidneys. It was then a routine of hemodialysis followed by peritoneal dilution. She finally returned home after an eighteen-day stay in the hospital from the point where she was close to death, and began the long road back to healthy. Her life had been forever changed. Angelica was being on dialysis for the past year and a half before she was finally ready to undergo the biggest surgery of her entire life: a transplant of the kidney. She would receive the donated kidney from her mom. In September 2013, Angelica and her mom underwent a successful kidney transplantation surgery at two amazing hospitals located close to each other-Emory University Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston.
